Letter: 1819 May 19, Dunbar, to David Laing / J. Aitken. 1819.

Sends Laing a copy of Suckling's poems, says he will use Andersons's poets as a source for his book, promises to return Heliconia, sends Laing's father some bottles of gin and tells Laing that if he should see Hogg, to ask him about a work by a scottish poet in the possession of Scott .

James Hogg was born in Ettrick, Selkshire, Scotland in November 1770. Having received little formal education, Hogg taught himself to read and write in his late teens.
